Weekly spelling lessons and Vocabulary.
Literature:
Reading for enjoyment stories and poems by such authors as Frost, Dickinson, Kipling, Bunyan, Alcott, Luther, Dickens, and Defoe.
History and Geography:
Ancient History to the Modern Age. Eastern Hemisphere Geography. Current Events.
Science:
Study includes: Plants – Provision for Life, Insects and Other Arthropods. Introduction to Physical Science.
The Atmosphere and Weather, Science Classification, The Microscope, Science and Creation.
Health:
Social and Mental Health, Personal Appearance, Drug Abuse, and Spiritual Fitness.
Mathematics:
Maintaining skills in fundamental operations. Continuing skills in fractions and decimals. Factoring, percents, and the metric system. Ratio and proportions, personal finances, basic geometric concepts. Development and use of formulas. Reading and constructing graphs. Introduction to algebra, negative numbers, powers and roots. Time zones, latitude, and longitude. Introductions to plane and solid geometry.

Grammar, capitalization and punctuation rules. Kinds of sentences, sentence structure, eight parts of speech, and diagramming. Composition. Manuscript form summaries, book reports, paragraphs, descriptions, and outlines. The library and research paper. Improving writing style.
Literature:
Reading for enjoyment stories and poems by such authors as Stuart, Whittier, Burns, Longfellow, Rawlings, Browning, Hawthorne, and Sandburg.
History and Geography:
American History: the new colonies, the movement west, Civil War, the 20th Century, world wars, and Current Events. National, State, and Local Government. Western Hemisphere Geography.
Science:
Man and the universe, solid, fluids, & heat molecules in motion. Birds. Efficiency in motion, science vs. evolution, magnets and magnetism, electrons and electricity.
Health:
Physical Fitness, good nutrition, basic first aid, and spiritual growth.
Mathematics:
Maintaining skills in fundamental operations and principles. English and metric measures. Statistics and probability. Reading and Constructing graphs and graphical scale drawings. Basic algebraic concepts. Signed numbers, powers and roots, like and unlike terms, multiplying and dividing monomials. Algebraic word problems.
Business math. Earning income, banking, stocks and bonds, and insurance. Basic plane and solid geometric concepts.
